World cycling championships
Due to the 2021 World cycling championships taking place in our beloved city of Leuven, various streets in and around Leuven will be closed or difficult to reach. Public transport will also be severely disrupted. Please take this into account if you have an appointment with us on Wednesday 22/9, Thursday 23/9 or Friday 24/9.
Around the practice the following closures should be taken into account:
Tervuursesteenweg
Between Sint-Jansbergsesteenweg and Tervuursevest
Street closed, except for local traffic:
- Thursday 23 September 2021 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Friday 24 September 2021 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Sunday September 26th 2021 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Celestijnenlaan
Street closed, except for local traffic:
- Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 7 a.m.
- Until Sunday September 26th 2021 at 11 pm
Avenue Roi Baudouin
Between Sint-Jansbergsesteenweg and Tervuursevest, direction Leuven
Parking on the street is prohibited:
- From Wednesday 22 September 2021 at 7 am
- Until Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 11 p.m.
Street closed to all traffic:
- Friday, September 24, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 12:00 to 18:00
- Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Between Sint-Jansbergsesteenweg and Tervuursevest, direction E314
Parking on the street is prohibited:
- From Monday 20 September 2021 at 7 am
- Until Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 11 p.m.
Between Celestijnenlaan and Tervuursevest, direction Leuven
Street closed, except for local traffic:
- Thursday 23 September 2021 from 8 am to 4 pm
- Friday 24 September 2021 from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
However, the organisation has informed us that the streets accessible to local traffic are also accessible to our patients. They do recommend that you have proof of your appointment (for example in the form of an email that you can show on your mobile phone) with you so that when you pass a police station you can show that you are indeed local. It is also best to navigate using Google Maps or Waze, as these systems will always be up to date with the temporary traffic measures.
